rateyourmusic: Tindersticks before they became Tindersticks. Interesting stuff. A band in the years of becoming, searching for their own voice and style. A rootsy effort, a bit like the alternative country/rock bands of the early 90's. The songs are played pretty fast, with a lot of energy, unlike the Tindersticks slow style with a lot of space and atmosphere. Some nice songs here, and Stuart Staples voice is as characteristic as ever. Two years down the road and Tindersticks would release their debut epic masterpiece.
